Project- ECU School of Science

Location - Joondalup, WA

Design & Build - MODE & CDI Group

Photographer - Matt Biocich

Year - 2026

The refurbishment of Edith Cowan University’s School of Science transforms a traditional cellular office layout into a dynamic, open-plan environment optimized for teaching, research, and cross-disciplinary collaboration. Designed by MODE, the upgraded space provides postgraduate students and academics with flexible work settings, improved natural light, and inviting breakout zones.

Lunova was proud to collaborate with project partners CDI Group, Zenith Interiors, and Criterion Industries to deliver tailored lighting solutions for the upgraded facility. Our acoustic lighting integrates seamlessly into the fresh layout, enhancing visual comfort in quiet focus zones and creating warm, functional illumination across shared meeting spaces.

The result is a highly agile, modern academic workplace that supports the evolving needs of the ECU Science community.
